Meaning
1. Even the minds of the wise are drawn by the Divine Mother, Mahamaya, and bound to delusion.
2. O Durga, when remembered you remove the fear of all beings; when remembered by the peaceful you grant a most auspicious mind. Remover of poverty, sorrow and fear, who but you is ever so tender-hearted to help all?
3. O auspiciousness of all that is auspicious, O Shiva, fulfiller of every aim, O refuge, three-eyed Gauri, Narayani, salutations to you.
4. O Narayani, intent on rescuing the refugee, the humble and the distressed, remover of everyone's suffering, salutations to you.
5. O you who are of the nature of all, the Lord of all, endowed with all powers: protect us from all fears, O Durga Devi, salutations to you.
6. When pleased you remove all diseases; when displeased you take away all desires. No calamity befalls those who take refuge in you, and those who take refuge in you become a refuge for others.
7. O Sovereign of the three worlds, in this very way remove all obstacles and quell our adversaries.
